so the first image came out of some frenzy that was occuring in the winter of 98. i am drawn to mythological and religious figures, or something of that sort in my paintings and drawings. its an attempt at transcendance or maybe its just all the history that goes with such an image cant be denied. its not an elephant, its a king elephant that will bestow good fortune on you and bring you good luck...the top image is oil on cardboard and only a little larger than a standard piece of paper. then it was tossed into a pile and forgotten for years, until the spring of 02 when i found it and started another larger piece. what resulted was the image below, acrylic on board, 4 ft x 4 ft. word.
