this is an acrylic on wood panel painting. the wood came from a desk that was used as a computer desk in my house, before that it was used in a hospital down-state. i layered the paint on pretty thick, tried to not get crazy about detail and tell a story using planes of color more than lines. i finished it last week.

She was an imaginary wife, dreamed up by Akbar in the way that lonely children dream up imaginary friends, and in spite of the presence of many living, if floating, consorts the emperor was of the opinion that it was the real queens who were the phantoms and the nonexistent beloved who was real. Rushdie, the Enchantress of Florence... a drawing i did with paint marker and spray paint. within the last couple of weeks

sometimes by a woodland stream he watched the water rush over the pebbled bed, its tiny modulations of bounce and flow. a woman's body was like that. if you watched it carefully enough you could see how it moved to the rhythm of the world, the deep rhythm, the music below the music, the truth below the truth. Rushdie, the Enchantress of Florence.... this painting is a gift to my grandmother aya on her 82nd birthday. finished a little bit ago its acrylic on canvas, you cant tell but the ochre colors are actually gold. its based on a painting by Chen Rong titled 'dragon in the clouds' and inspired by the movie flight of dragons.

Iqbal, that great poet was so right. the moment you recognize what is beautiful in this world, you stop being a slave. to hell with the Naxals and their guns shipped from china. if you taught every poor boy how to paint, that would be the end of the rich in India... Aravind Adiga, the white tiger. ah this has the stench of paint all over it. breathe it in. this piece was completed around 12 hours ago probably less. its acrylic on canvas and its an explosion of plant-life.
