aegir detail, 03

this is a detail of a painting i did of one of the sea gods, it could be neptune or aegir... probably aegir was what i had in mind, its acrylic on board, 10 ft x 18 in. my mom used to have a store and the board was the countertop... it was painted in the winter of 03... i started w a totally different orientation, having the piece vertical instead of horizontal. at the time i wld start apiece and then turn it on its axis at the beginning of each session. i didnt have an idea what the painting was to be when i started(i usually dont) and began by covering the surface w inch long blue brush strokes, i did this several times, and then began to use longer, less restricted brush strokes...
